What was the outcome of the August 27th meeting? Currently, I'm a senior over at Elon University, and one of the ongoing projects in the English program is a travel writing website called the Highway 64 Project. It's about three years running now, each year a new wave of students, breaking up into small groups and going out to check out restaurants and local digs along the highway. I took the class this year, but I've continued my involvement in the site over the summer and into the fall getting internship credit as I aim to develop it into a more user-friendly, interactive medium between us and the actual locals along the highway. I stumbled across this site, and I'm really interested in being apart of this awareness campaign and perhaps getting our students involved in getting the word out, as well. If you or the webmaster want to get in touch with me directly, that would be great, because we really want to get involved. You can reach me at ashley.e.mcclelland@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you guys!

09-REZ-09 MacGregor Center Planned Development District Amendment

Town Council Public Hearing is August 27, 2009

The applicant is requesting an amendment to the existing MacGregor Center PDD to increase the maximum amount of office use for PDD Lot 2B by up to 1,590 square feet. The request would also remove the individual use allocation amounts for vacant PDD lots 3, 4 and 6, and allow the property owner to distribute the overall maximum square footage among all three properties.

The request also proposes removing the previous requirement to install an entry monument at the entrance to the subdivision, and provides a revised master plan that reflects the current lot configurations.

Has anyone noticed the ToC Public Hearing sign on Lake Pine across from Summit/Camden Apartments. It appears although I haven't 100% researched it, the Town of Cary is holding a public hearing on developing more land next to the small strip mall across from Krogers. Additional development will only increase traffic and increase run off downtstream. I hope some of you folks who live near 64 can attend the public hearing and oppose additional Town of Cary (Screwed by the Town of Cary) development of every last squeezed onto parcel of "undeveloped" land. Additional development on Lake Pine will make traffic worse and only feed the "need" for double decker roads

thank you.
